Shungite is a unique natural mineral from Karelia that has been valued for centuries for purifying, energetically enhancing, and refining water.

Whether for daily drinking, body care, or for plants – Shungite offers a simple, natural, and sustainable way to noticeably improve even tap water. In its presence, water seems to come alive again – clear, soft, and still, like the water of a secluded lake at dawn.

How Does Water Revitalisation with Shungite Work?

Shungite holds a special energy that it can transfer to water. Water has the ability to absorb information – it can store positive energy and simultaneously neutralize negative imprints caused, for example, by pollutants or medication residues. As a result, the water becomes softer and tastes more harmonious.

This property was discovered centuries ago in Karelia and is still in use today. The effect is strongest when the stone comes into direct contact with the water – although proximity alone can already be sufficient.

Methods of Water Preparation

Direct Contact
Important: Rinse the stones thoroughly before first use.
Place Shungite or Elite Shungite directly into a glass container filled with still water.
Store the container in a calm, shaded place.

The preparation time is 48 to a maximum of 72 hours for classic Shungite, and 12 to 24 hours for Elite Shungite. After that, the water is ready for use. Do not leave the stones in the water longer than necessary, as it may affect the taste.

Note:
Tiny particles may settle in the water. These are harmless and pose no health risk. After several preparation cycles, they usually disappear entirely.

Indirect Contact
Place the stones in a small glass container (e.g. a test tube) and immerse it in the water.

The information is transferred even without direct contact between stone and water.
This method is especially suitable for Elite Shungite – even small fragments have sufficient energetic strength.
The duration depends on your perception – typically 12 to 24 hours.

Shungite Plate
Place a glass or carafe of water on a Shungite plate.

Only classic Shungite should be used for this method. Even though its energy is not as intense, it is still sufficient to restructure and energize water over time.
Minimum preparation time: 24 hours (depending on personal sensitivity).

What Is Shungite Water Good For?

Drinking Water at Home

Shungite water is ideal for daily hydration.

It is noticeably revitalised and usually tastes softer and more pleasant. Energetic measurements show significantly increased positive frequencies, for example on the Bovis scale.

At the same time, it harmonises burdensome information caused by residues or pollutants in tap water.

Prepared water stays fresh longer. Keep it away from direct sunlight during preparation and storage – a shaded spot is best.

Water for Plants

Water revitalised with Shungite can be used directly for watering.

It supports root development, vigorous growth, and nutrient absorption.

Water for Animals

Animals also benefit from energetically prepared water.

Ideally, prepare the water with Shungite and then offer it to your pet. Alternatively, you can place the stones directly in the water bowl – just make sure they are not swallowed or used as toys.

Which Shungite Is Right?

Both types – classic and Elite Shungite – are suitable for water preparation.
Use only untreated, raw stones. Polished stones are not suitable, as polishing residues could leach into the water.

Elite Shungite (also known as Noble or Type I Shungite):
Exceptionally pure and highly potent.
Usage: approx. 10 g per liter of water, preparation time 12–24 hours.

Classic Shungite:
Often perceived as energetically “richer,” but requires more time and larger quantities.
Usage: approx. 100 g per liter of water, preparation time 48–72 hours.

Different Stone Sizes:
Shungite Chips (single pieces approx. 5–15 cm):
Convenient for smaller containers due to their large surface area, but mechanical cleaning is difficult.

Larger Stones (from approx. 20 cm):
Easy to clean, strong energy emission from a solid mass, but smaller surface area.

Both types and sizes have advantages and disadvantages.
Small and large stones are equally suitable – what matters is giving them enough time to transfer their information to the water and tuning in to your own perception.
Ideally, the process fits easily into your daily routine – becoming a sustainable habit.
The finished Shungite water should be clear, tasteless, and odorless. Only then is it correctly prepared and supportive on both an energetic and physical level.

Practical Notes

Use still water only.

Keep out of direct sunlight.

Rinse stones thoroughly before first use.

Remove classic Shungite stones after a maximum of 3 days.

Remove Elite Shungite stones after a maximum of 1 day.

Black particles in the water are harmless.

Care and Shelf Life

Cleaning
Every two to three months, clean both stones and containers thoroughly under running water.
Energetic cleansing isn’t strictly necessary, but it can help to lay the stones in the sun for 6–7 hours afterward. This allows them to dry completely and recharge energetically.

Durability
Shungite Chips:
Due to the large surface, deposits or limescale can build up over time and be difficult to remove.
Recommendation: Replace every 18–24 months.

Larger Stones:
Easy to clean (e.g. with a brush) and can be used indefinitely if properly maintained.

Orange Stains on the Stone

This phenomenon can affect both Elite and classic Shungite.
Stains that appear during or after water preparation are completely natural and stem from the stone’s original composition.
They are often inclusions of pyrite or quartzite, which appear as gray or gold spots on the surface.

When exposed to water, these minerals can oxidize and cause orange discoloration.
As long as they appear sporadically, they are harmless and do not affect the water’s quality or safety.

Only if about one-third of the surface is covered by such stains might there be a slight change in taste.
If this occurs and the stones were purchased from us, please contact us – we will gladly replace any affected stones.

Conclusion

Shungite offers a simple, natural, and time-tested way to purify and energise water.
Whether for people, animals, or plants – Shungite water supports a conscious and healthy lifestyle.
