All shungite beads meet high quality standards. Each bead is inspected multiple times:

• directly at the mining site in Karelia
• during processing
• during transport
• and again during final inspection in Würzburg

Only selected stones make it into our assortment.

The classic shungite used comes from the Zazhoginskij mine in Karelia (Russia) and is processed as a natural stone – not pressed and not artificially reconstructed.

Material properties of shungite – natural changes during use

Shungite is a relatively soft natural mineral. Therefore, with regular contact with skin or clothing, slight and harmless abrasion marks may occur, which can easily be removed with water.

It is also a natural characteristic that the originally highly polished surface may lose some of its shine over time. This gentle matte effect is not a defect but a typical natural development of the mineral.

The visual change does not affect either the stability or the high-quality appearance of the material.
