What do I need a Shungite pyramid for?
A Shungite pyramid can traditionally and according to experiential findings be used to protect and harmonize your personal biofield. Many people report that they are sensitive to electromagnetic fields (electrosmog) or geopathic disturbances such as earth rays – with symptoms such as fatigue, headaches or concentration problems.

What types of pyramids are available?
Classic Pyramid
The classic shape, often called the Cheops pyramid, is based on the principle of the Golden Ratio. This is a division ratio in which the ratio of the whole to its larger part is approximately 61.8%, while the ratio of the larger part to the smaller part is approximately 38.2%.
The golden number (1.61803398...) is an irrational number with infinitely many decimal places. It occurs in nature, architecture, art and mathematics. In traditional symbolism, it is regarded as part of sacred geometry, similar to the Flower of Life or Platonic solids. It is considered an image of a universal order.
A pyramid in which the height relative to half the side length corresponds to the Golden Ratio is called a pyramid in the Golden Ratio.
The best-known pyramid of this type is the Cheops pyramid, valued for its harmonious proportions and symbolic presence. Traditionally, it is said to bring a particularly balanced energy into the room.
High Pyramid
The high pyramid is based on the so-called Golod pyramid, designed by the Russian engineer Alexander Golod (Александром Голод). It differs in its calculation of proportions, but also follows the principle of the Golden Ratio.
In the Golod pyramid, the Golden Ratio is applied to the ratio of the diameters of adjacent spheres (as shown in the diagram).
When this condition is met, the ratio of the height of the pyramid to the side of the square at its base is approximately 2.058, the angle between the sides of the pyramid is approximately 27.3°, giving it its characteristic pointed shape.
Both pyramid shapes – classic and high – are designed according to harmonious proportions based on the Golden Ratio, which traditionally gives them a particularly strong energetic effect and presence in living spaces.
Difference between polished and unpolished Shungite pyramids
Polished and unpolished pyramids are made from the same high-quality classic Shungite from the Zazhoginsky Mine in Karelia.
- Unpolished pyramids:
These pyramids are cut and left natural. They can be used for water treatment because the untreated surface preserves the mineral properties of Shungite. The natural texture causes stronger staining, but is also a sign of authenticity and quality. - Polished pyramids:
Polished pyramids should not be used for water treatment because they may contain polishing residues. A dry cloth is recommended for cleaning. Polished pyramids hardly stain, and contact with water should preferably be avoided. - Shungite pyramids with power symbols:
Engravings or incorporated symbols combine, according to traditional belief, the natural power of Shungite with the symbolic meaning of the symbols. This gives the pyramid a special life energy and a mystical expression.
Effect of a Shungite pyramid
It is traditionally believed that geopathic zones and geopathogenic fields (e.g. earth rays, underground water veins, interference zones) can affect human health. Shungite pyramids are therefore used as protective elements to create a harmonious environment.
The placement should be carefully considered: The pyramid should be located where you spend most of your time. It does not serve as a protective wall, but according to traditional belief works best when you are within its radius of effect.
Radius of effect
In neutral zones, the following experiential values can be used as a guide for its presence:
- 50 × 50 mm: 2 to 3 meters (approx. 19.5 m²)
- 70 × 70 mm: 3 to 4 meters (approx. 38.5 m²)
- 100 × 100 mm: 5 to 6 meters (approx. 95 m²)
- 150 × 150 mm: 6 to 7 meters (approx. 132 m²)

Instructions for use
- Water treatment:
Use only unpolished pyramids. The pyramid should be large enough for the water container. Example: 5 cm pyramid for 5–15 liters of water. - Radiation protection and harmonization:
The pyramid should be placed in your immediate vicinity, not between the radiation source and the person. According to traditional belief, the effect is best within its radius of effect. - Alignment:
The edges of the pyramid base can be aligned with the four cardinal directions.
- Size of the pyramid:
Whether one large pyramid or several smaller pyramids depends on the room and intended use. Smaller pyramids can have a more targeted and efficient effect and are also more affordable.
Our own experiences
In our rooms, smaller pyramids (5 cm) were placed in the study and dining area. According to traditional practice, they were first aligned with the cardinal directions and then tested with a pendulum and subsequently rotated slightly by a few degrees clockwise.
