For these earrings, beads made of genuine classic shungite were combined with silver-colored, nickel-free jewelry elements in a unique way.
Classic shungite can be a very attractive gemstone that is not only suitable as a talisman or neck pendant. Here we have had beads made of classic shungite polished and processed into beautiful earrings.
Quality:
The raw stones for our beads all come from the Zazhoginskij mine in Karelia/Russia. The classic shungite mined here corresponds to the highest quality category for shungite, category 2. Classic shungite is naturally permeated with additional elements. You recognize them as gray veins (quartzite) and shiny gold inclusions (pyrite). These are not only an extremely attractive eye-catcher, but they also testify to the authenticity of the classic shungite, which does not exist without inclusions.

Coloring off
Objects made from classic shungite can stain, more so in unpolished areas than in polished ones. For example, the holes in jewelry beads are not polished, which means the jewelry items will initially discolor a little. This cannot be avoided as it is a completely natural property of shungite. Most of the time it is a gray discoloration that can be easily removed with soap and water.
Additional elements
Classic shungite is a mineral that naturally contains additional elements that are irregularly distributed. That's why pyrite and quartzite inclusions can be seen in some places, which look like scratches or cracks. These show that it is genuine shungite and are in no way a sign of poor quality.
polish
The polish does not last very long on the surface of the stone because shungite is a relatively soft mineral. This is completely normal and not a quality defect. When manufacturing our products, we deliberately avoid strong sealing or polishing. We would like to offer our customers the stones as natural as possible.
