Please note:
Discoloration
Items made of classic shungite can discolor, more so in unpolished areas than in polished areas. For example, the holes in jewelry beads are not polished, which causes the jewelry to initially discolor slightly. This cannot be avoided, as it is a completely natural property of shungite. Most of the time, these discolorations are gray and can be easily removed with soap and water.
Additional Elements
Classic shungite is a mineral that naturally contains additional elements that are irregularly distributed. Therefore, pyrite and quartzite inclusions can be seen in some places, which look like scratches or cracks. These indicate that the piece is genuine shungite and are by no means a sign of poor quality.
Polish
The polish does not last very long on the surface of the stone, as shungite is a relatively soft mineral. This is completely normal and not a quality defect. We deliberately avoid heavy sealing or polishing during the manufacturing of our products. We want to offer our customers the stones as natural as possible.
