Staining: Shungite can stain slightly in unpolished areas such as drill holes. These gray marks can be easily removed with soap and water and are a natural property of the stone.

Therefore, pyrite and quartzite inclusions can be seen in some places, which may look like scratches or cracks. These indicate that the shungite is genuine and are by no means signs of poor quality.
