Elite shungite and classic shungite are two forms of mineral existence, so the chemical composition and physical properties are very similar.

Both species consist predominantly of carbon and relatively soft, on the scale of Mohs hardness - from 4 to 5 points.

But there are also differences, which determine the advantages and disadvantages.

Elite shungite

Advantages:

Its energy is more sensitive, has higher Bovis performance.

It has higher carbon content - more than 80%.

Do not get dirty, and the surface has a natural gloss.

Disadvantages:

It is very fragile, therefore not suitable for further processing.

Relatively expensive, because the only known deposit is almost exhausted

Classical shungite

Advantages:

Well processed, it can produce various products, for example, pyramids, balls, etc. Due to this fact, it is effectively used as a radiation shield.

It is a very strong healing stone, although not as intense as the elite shungite.

An acceptable price, because the volumes of its extraction are practically unlimited.

Advantages:

Polishing does not hold very well, gloss, for example, on jewelry or other polished items is not very long.

Non-polished surfaces are strongly dirty (dyed).

Use all the strength of the mineral, note that, for example, elite shungite cleans water faster, but very fragile. The classic shungite gets dirty, leaves traces behind, but only from classical shungite can one produce strong protective items, such as pyramids, cubes or balls.

It is important to understand that neither of the two can be worse or better. Both types have their advantages and disadvantages, which must be taken into account when choosing a stone.
