Our pure shungite powder is distinguished by an exceptionally fine and uniform grain size of 0–80 µm and is delivered in quantities of 1000 g.
Packaging content: 1000 g
Production of the Powder:
In the production of our shungite powder, we place the highest importance on ensuring that no additives are added to the natural shungite. Only completely pure shungite stones are used, which are gently processed in special drums. This process produces a highly fine, homogeneous powder, ideal for various applications. The natural composition of the shungite remains fully preserved.
Quality:
The powder offered consists exclusively of classic shungite, carefully selected and processed. Special attention is given to purity and quality during production and packaging. However, we expressly point out: the shungite powder is not suitable for consumption.
Certificate of Origin:
We guarantee our customers the clear origin of our shungite products. Regular visits to Karelia during stone production allow us to directly verify the origin and quality of our raw materials. Each powder delivery comes with a certificate issued by us, confirming the authenticity and origin of the shungite powder.
Certificate of Grain Size and Composition:
Particular attention should be paid to the fine grain size of 0–80 µm and the specific composition, which has been checked and confirmed by our manufacturer. This certificate can also be viewed alongside the product images.
Composition and Safety of Shungite Powder (according to the Certificate of Grain Size and Composition):
The following information refers directly to the values confirmed in the certificate. In addition, the shungite contains a high proportion of natural carbon, which is not captured in this oxide analysis. This carbon is responsible for the characteristic black color and some special physical properties of shungite.
Note: Summing the indicated percentages of the oxides does not result in exactly 100 %, as minor amounts of other components and rounding differences are not included. Values may also vary slightly, as this is a natural product and mineral components are not evenly distributed in each stone.
The powder contains no toxic, radioactive, or hazardous substances. It is considered safe and environmentally friendly. However, when handling the fine powder, a dust mask should be worn to prevent inhalation, as it can irritate the respiratory tract.
Main Components:
• SiO₂ – Silicon Dioxide (37.66 %)
One of the most common natural mineral components of the Earth. Silicon dioxide forms the basic material of many rocks (e.g., quartz) and is chemically stable and safe for health. Only very fine dusts can irritate the respiratory system if inhaled over long periods.
• Fe₂O₃ – Iron(III) Oxide (20.98 %)
Gives shungite its dark gray to black color. It is a firmly bound, non-toxic iron oxide, chemically stable, and does not react with water or air.
• Al₂O₃ – Aluminum Oxide (13.35 %)
Component of many natural minerals such as corundum or alumina. It is non-toxic, very stable, and contributes to the hardness and structure of the rock.
• MgO – Magnesium Oxide (7.48 %)
A naturally occurring mineral oxide that can react slightly basic in small amounts. It is safe for health and contributes to the structural stability of the powder.
• CaO – Calcium Oxide (7.81 %)
A typical component of many rocks. In pure form, it may react weakly alkaline, but in the solid matrix of shungite, it is completely safe.
• TiO₂ – Titanium Dioxide (6.99 %)
Natural titanium oxide, known as a pigment and UV protector. In this solid, mineral form, it is non-toxic and chemically stable.
• Na₂O – Sodium Oxide (2.35 %), P₂O₅ – Phosphorus Pentoxide (2.21 %), K₂O – Potassium Oxide (0.80 %), MnO – Manganese Oxide (0.20 %)
These mineral oxides are natural trace elements in rocks and have no harmful effects. They contribute to the balanced mineral composition of shungite.
Trace Elements (each 0.01–0.08 %):
• S (Sulfur) – naturally occurring, firmly bound, safe at this concentration.
• V (Vanadium) – present in traces, plays a role in geological processes, harmless to health.
• Zr (Zirconium) – stable element, completely safe at this level.
• Zn (Zinc) – important trace element, naturally present in the rock.
• Co (Cobalt), Ni (Nickel), Cr (Chromium), Cu (Copper), BaO (Barium Oxide) – present in very small concentrations, firmly bound in the mineral lattice, non-toxic in this form.
Overall Assessment:
✅ Free of toxic, radioactive, or hazardous substances
✅ Environmentally friendly, chemically stable, and safe when used correctly
⚠ Fine dust may irritate the respiratory system if inhaled – dust mask recommended
⚠ Not suitable for ingestion or internal use
The shungite powder is delivered in a practical, resealable bag. This packaging allows for easy dosing, protects the powder from moisture and dust, and preserves its high quality over time. Due to the fine consistency and strong coloring properties of the powder, we recommend always wearing rubber gloves when handling it to protect skin, clothing, and surfaces from staining.
Important notes:
• The powder is not intended for ingestion and should not be taken orally.
• Typical areas of use include making creams, ointments, wraps, or compresses for external use.
• Customer experience reports can provide guidance but do not replace scientifically verified knowledge. Therefore, we cannot give binding recommendations on mixtures, dosages, or methods of use.
Application tips:
• Shungite powder stains strongly, so careful handling and cleaning are required. Work surfaces, textiles, or clothing are difficult to fully remove from powder residues.
• Creams and ointments based on vegetable oils are particularly well absorbed by the skin. Alternatively, beeswax, honey, or lard can be used depending on the desired consistency and application.
• Prepare only the amount of the product that can be used promptly. In our tests, acidity can increase after about 72 hours, which may affect product stability.
• The powder is very fine, so all surfaces on which it is processed should be easy to clean and maintain to avoid long-term residues.
