Shungite naturally contains inclusions, usually pyrite and quartzite, which may appear on the surface as scratches or streaks. These are natural components of the mineral and can be considered a sign of the stone’s authenticity. This does not indicate lower quality, even if these inclusions are more visible on engraved surfaces.

All of our shungite stones are carefully checked for quality and authenticity based on electrical conductivity, weight, hardness and optical characteristics. We also regularly visit the mining site in Karelia and the workshops where the stones are processed.
